Teaching

'The aim of education is [...] not the piecemeal merchandizing of information [...] it is the provision of keys to unlock the vault of knowledge' [Tsunesaburo Makiguchi].

I've taught medical students for many years in seminars and at the bedside. During my time at [NAME WITHHELD] University I taught on the political sociology, developmental and social psychology, and ‘Thinking Sociologically’ modules. I completed the first two modules of the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education, receiving a merit for module one and a distinction for module two. I was developing some innovative teaching techniques based on dual-coding and multimedia learning theories. My teaching style is interactive and I seek to be both thought-provoking and entertaining at the same time.
